Meeting Forecast 2018

We have some excellent topics in the pipeline for 2018~  including the Terror Awareness session outlined on the front page this month.  Some of these are not completely firmed up (those out 6 months or so) but we’re pretty confident. 35 years ago -  August 1983

What? Research predicts by 1988 a typical household will have one ~free~ computer with a telephone line connection to a host organization. The homeowner would use this free computer for a profit if desired.  By 1990, other predictions said over 50% of households will have home computers, up from 7% at the time.  How many are in your home now?

30 years ago -  August 1988

Buckmaster figured the average amateur was 50 years old and had a general class license. What do you think is the case now? (Hint- Technician class is a good bet!)   

20 years ago -  August 1998

ARES participated in a SAR (Search & Rescue) drill at Recreation Unlimited in Ashley, complete with dogs and full complement of first responders.  Walter Vogel talked about alternative energy for the home (slightly ahead of his time!)
