Software Says…the antenna ought to

I wonder how my antenna performs?  I wonder if ~that~ antenna would perform better? Well, a little time and information plugged in to the right software, and you might just have an idea about that! Antenna modeling software, most likely EZ- NEC, the most popular, has become commonplace in today’s ham shack.  Sometimes, we can get so wrapped up in the theoretical application of antennas, that it become almost a sport in itself! Joe, AA8TA, will give us a profile of modeling and how we can put it to use!

The Prez’s Shack

Joe Fischer, AA8TA This is one of those times where I cannot think of too much going on.  I should have a guest editor to help my feeble memory. The big event this month is the Delaware Horse parade.  Mr. A-OK (Donn), K8AOK, reports that all available slots have been filled but anybody can stop by and enjoy a low-stress operating event. Fall is the traditional start of contesting season and we have already had the Ohio QSO Party and there was a big CW event over the Labor Day weekend.  I am writing this between the two events; discussion I have seen so far indicates that propagation was not as good as a year ago for the OHQP.  We are reaching the solar minimum so if we can hang in there for a few years, propagation should start getting better.  There is hope! We invite you to join us at our next meeting to be held on Wednesday, September 19, 7:30 p.m., at the Delaware Red Cross, 380 Hills-Miller Rd.  The program is about… hmmm: our program director will have to remind me what great presentation is scheduled.  See you there! 73, Joe, AA8TA [Happens to be Hisself, der Prez, talking about antenna modeling! -ed]
