MESH Net gets off to a start We has our first Mesh Net, and we are off to a good start. There were 6 participants: Richard WA8RR, Mike KD8YED, Larry AC8YE, Joe K8MP, Paul KC8UUA and myself. In addition, Art WA8RMC tried to participate but he did not know about the PL tone being on the repeater. Several people said they are in the learning mode about mesh, and are not ready to get on the air. WA8RR is on the air but with only a marginal signal so far. K8MP has worked with me on various telephony tests, and would like us to get Winlink going. AC8YE is still moving his abode, but after that he will work on the software for the Mikrotik nodes, which so far the AREDN folks have been unable to make work. KD8YED fears he is too far away from any tower nodes to make a connection. It would be good if someone could take a portable node to his location and see what the signal strength looks like. Everyone indicated they are already on this mailing list. Are there any others that should be added? The Winlink email Post Office has been moved from my house to the Red Cross building. I am still able to monitor and control it remotely from my house. Everyone who wants to use the Post Office must have their call sign entered in the PO configuration, so I will add all those who participated in the net. If you would like to be added just let me know .
