Welcome

This is the official newsletter of a great ham radio club! Our DELARA family appreciates what you’re doing with the hobby! Why not take a few minutes and write out what interests you in our hobby! We have room for your article always! Send it to Stan [at] standi.com by the end of the month.

The Prez’s Shack

The office is empty- waiting

With Tim’s departure to the sunny south and new employment, the opulent office space dedicated to the DELARA presidency lies in wait for the next leader to step up! In the meantime, there are exciting things happening with DELARA! Things may not be ‘the same’ but they will always be interesting! First, our focus this time of year swings to Field Day- the mainstay of our club’s social calendar. DELARA Field Days have always been active and joined by many- as we’ve stepped through a series of locations club members have always found that time to socialize and renew our fellowship! This year is obviously going to be different. We’ve decided it best to split off the Field Day activity from the food and social gathering under the health concerns that have disrupted our society. More details will be included in the “Field Day” pages. A sub-set of that is consolidating, sorting, and refining our FD ‘stash’ of antennas and supplies that have been in storage at the ARC barn. Word on that is in the club station page. We plan on resuming in-person meeting at the Red Cross building this month! It will be so good to see faces (OK, at a slight distance) and hear about exploits of our radio family! See you there! - Stan, N8BHL Vice-President

Let’s Get Together!

It’s time. In fact it’s past time! As we are allowed to re-open and get on with our lives, it’s time to meet in person! The June meeting will be held at the Red Cross at 7:30 PM, June 17. For those desiring, we can maintain distancing in our seating and you certainly have the ability to ‘mask up’. Our meeting will be centered around the Field Day plans this year. While we do envision a strong 3A team there are actually more operating opportunities for ALL this year, working from the comfort of our own stations. Come refresh our radio fellowship, see how we’ve made it through, and consider plans for the future!
