Party Time! Excellent!

We had a very productive Work Party at the ARC on Saturday April 30th. It was Excellent! (Wayne and Garth would be proud.) Antennas were strung, coax was repaired and buried, and other much needed maintenance was performed. Most notably, our tower no longer resembles that slightly more famous tower in Pisa Italy. Many thanks to all those who spent the day helping out. Special thanks to Dale KE8PIY for his towering skills! And while I’m on the topic of improvements, we again have a working network connection to the Flex 6400 and rotator for remote operation. Thanks to Ed AE8Q and Gary KE8O for making that possible. It’s great to be part of such an active club, where you can count on overwhelming support whenever a call for help goes out. In fact, it’s Excellent! 73 - Mike W8MDC DELARA President President@K8es.org

DELARA

You are great! We have a firmly established history in DELARA - when work needs to be done, our members show up in large numbers to get it done, and make it look easy! Our latest work day at the ARC will be detailed on the ARC page, but we need to send a huge “Thank You!” out to those who took a really nice Saturday and worked on many tasks to be done at the ARC. To those who participated, please accept our thanks! To those who couldn’t but wanted to, also take our thanks! I learned a principle in the volunteer fire service - A station may have 25 members. On any given call, only 6 to 8 are able to respond but that is enough to get the job done. Each call may show a different 6 to 8 members, and that’s why even those who weren’t available are important. There will be more calls, more workdays and I am confident we’ll answer the call! -Stan N8BHL

DELARAActive

Lots of things to do!

DELARA members are bacck in the swing! Over the past couple of months, there have been a number of activities in which many of our members have participated! Over the summer in addition to Field Day (always a big draw) the Boot Camp brought a large number out for a fun day. Ironman fielded 29 ham operators from three counties to help keep that event running. The latest adventures have included a large turnout for the Ohio QSO Party, putting the ARC stations back on the air. And in mid- September came the All Horse Parade, complete with Clydesdales. And of course the nightly radio nets, the digital group, and ARES training are there to keep us interacting. We send big thanks out to all who take their time and effort to have fun and serve our community! DELARA is an active club- and if you’re a newer member to the hobby, these activities are a great way to make some serious friendships! That has always been the best part of DELARA - friendships built around a common interest!
